The Institute of Travel and Tourism recognises the value of working closely with universities and colleges and has established a number of initiatives aimed at valuing excellence and driving up professional standards.

Part of ITT’s engagement with Further and Higher Education involves recognising good practice via its ITT Recognition scheme for university and college tourism departments.

Recognition entitles the university/college to use the ITT Recognised University/College logo on its website and other promotional materials, in addition to the existing ITT membership benefits.

Universities and colleges applying for ITT Recognition are required to complete a brief application form and to supply any supporting evidence they feel will help the Evaluation Panel. The type of supporting evidence submitted will depend upon the claims made in the form, but will probably include various course documents.



ITT Recognition is available to all University and College members and is part of their annual membership fee. Use of the Recognised status logo is only permitted for current Members of the Institute.
