PHD AND PGT BURSARIES AND SCHOLARSHIPS

UNLOCK OPPORTUNITIES WITH PHD BURSARIES: FUNDING YOUR DOCTORAL RESEARCH

A PhD bursary, also referred to as a PhD scholarship or funding, is a valuable financial award offered to support individuals pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree. This form of financial assistance is designed to cover the costs associated with undertaking doctoral research and studies. For ITT members, it presents a remarkable opportunity to collaborate with a university and partially or fully fund a project that addresses specific business issues or challenges.

Leeds Beckett University recently hosted an ITT PhD Bursary investigating the relationship between the different components of all-inclusive tours and the impact on customer satisfaction. PhD bursaries are typically granted based on academic merit and research potential. They are often highly competitive, requiring candidates to submit an application outlining their proposed research project, academic qualifications, and relevant experience. The selection process may involve evaluation by a committee or panel, assessing applicants' qualifications, research proposal, and potential contributions to the field of study.

If chosen as a recipient, you will receive financial support throughout your doctoral studies. The bursary typically covers tuition fees, living expenses, and research-related costs such as laboratory equipment, data collection, or travel for conferences and fieldwork. The specific terms and conditions of the bursary, including the funding amount and duration, vary depending on the institution.

Beyond financial support, PhD bursaries may offer additional benefits. These can include access to supplementary training or development opportunities, mentorship from experienced researchers, or collaborations with industry partners or other academic institutions. Such opportunities enrich the research experience and enhance the overall quality and impact of the PhD project.

It's important to note that the requirements and obligations associated with a PhD bursary can vary. Some bursaries may come with specific conditions, such as maintaining a minimum level of academic progress or contributing to teaching or research activities within the institution. Recipients may also be expected to present their research findings at conferences or publish their work in academic journals.

Furthermore, scholarships are also available at the Master's level, such as the Savoy Educational Trust Scholarship. This scholarship provides a full fee waiver of £10,900 for four UK students studying the MSc in Strategic Hotel Management at the University of Surrey.

Seize the opportunity to fund your doctoral research through a PhD bursary. Collaborate with a university, receive financial support, and embark on a transformative journey of academic exploration and innovation.
