A Christmas Message

A look back at 2022 and best wishes for a happy 2023

I think it’s fair to say that 2022 has been an improvement on 2021. That is not to say that 2022 hasn’t been without its challenges. As we face a Christmas plagued by rail, postal and border force strikes, the fact that demand for travel continues to grow month by month, does show what a robust and resilient industry we are.

Thanks to the great work of Paul Evans, our Head of Membership, ITT’s membership has now surpassed our pre-pandemic numbers. We saw 17 candidates stand in our annual Board elections in May and we welcomed four new directors to our Board. The sign of a very healthy Institute.

ITT’s Education and Training Committee has continued to excel this year and a record number of college and university students attended our Future You Roadshows at ITT Centres of Excellence. Perhaps most excitingly, we welcomed eight new universities and colleges into membership.

We saw the return of our popular Odyssey Suppers at the House of Commons, and we welcomed over 250 delegates to our first post-pandemic overseas Conference – at the wonderful Bomonti Hilton in Istanbul.

We look forward to seeing you in the New Year when we have a range of fantastic events coming up, including some new ones. Our next event is the Odyssey Supper on 11 January followed on 9 February by a special Supper at the House of Commons at which we shall hear from the former easyJet CEO and now ITV CEO, Carolyn McCall.

Finally, don’t forget that Qatar Airways is offering ITT delegates up to 90% discount on their fares to Qatar for next year’s ITT Conference at the amazing Waldorf Astoria, Lusail, Doha. Early Bird registration fees will continue until 31 January. Register here.
