As part of ITT’s mission to raise professional standards in the industry, the ITT Endorsement and Recognition programme recognises those companies who offer excellent training and development for industry staff.
An employer’s guide to ITT Endorsement and Recognition
The ITT Education and Training Committee is often asked for its opinion on Members’ in-house training programmes. Organisations feel that recognition or endorsement from ITT would add weight to their programmes and thereby increase their standing to both their employees and their business. As a number of academics and training professionals sit on our Education and Training committee, we are ideally positioned to be able to review Members’ programmes in line with the requirements and recognised standards of the industry.
We have therefore developed programme specifically for employers, which will give ITT recognition or endorsement of your in-house training programme(s), validated by the industry’s professional Institute.
What is ITT Endorsement and Recognition?
The ITT is not an educational awarding body; this type of accreditation is awarded at two levels, as follows:
ITT Endorsed
This is for all organisations who have taken part in the ATP (Accredited Travel Professional) scheme with ABTA and have had their programme(s) mapped via the national occupational standards.
• We endorse the training by assessing who is delivering your programme
• We look at how the training is evaluated and followed up by your organisation
• We look for evidence that the training is in line with your business needs and objectives
As your programme content is already mapped with ATP, our main focus will be on your delivery and evaluation. Therefore the cost of ITT Endorsement is less than that for Recognition and is £300 for 24 months. When you want to renew your endorsement we will review your programme(s) to make sure that any changes you have made to them still meet our criteria.
ITT Recognised
This is for organisations who feel that the ATP scheme does not fit their model for their training programme(s) but would like it or them to be recognised as adding value within the travel industry.
• We measure the programme's objectives against outcomes
• We assess the trainer who is delivering the programme
• We assess how the training is evaluated and followed up by the business
• We look for evidence that the training is in line with your business needs and objectives
Since we will need to review your programme(s) content, as well as your delivery and evaluation, the cost of ITT Recognition is £450 for 24 months. As with ITT Endorsement we will need to review your programme(s) prior to renewal to make sure that any changes you have made to them still meet our criteria.
