The Giles Business Travel Academy

Following the recent graduation of the inaugural Class of 2014, The Giles Business Travel Academy is currently processing applications for its next course beginning, late September 2014 and a few spaces are still available. Opportunities are available for ITT Members to either place their own student on the course or sponsor a student via an Academy Scholarship.

A totally unique, innovative and hybrid approach to professional training, The Giles Business Travel Academy breathes fresh oxygen into our under-represented, multi-billion pound Business Travel industry by developing new talent to the very highest calibre.

Combining traditional classroom education with on-site work experience, the Academy delivers their unique Diploma in Business Travel qualification, which is endorsed by the Confederation of Tourism and Hospitality (CTH). The course spans 24 weeks of intensive learning and development, which includes two weeks work placement with some of the travel industry’s leading brands. The Academy ensures the correct high level of tuition and coaching to produce fully rounded, high calibre, experienced graduates who have been taught to objective, industry best-practice standards.

Delivered by industry renowned GB Training and supported by some of the biggest names in business travel  The Academy is located in its own purpose built, state-of-the-art facility in Amersham, Buckinghamshire and takes students through an in-depth study of business travel management. This includes modules on global distribution systems, fares & ticketing, geography and industry sector focuses on air, rail, car and hotel products as well as researching and implementing the very latest, cutting edge business travel technologies.

While focusing on these specialist business travel management training elements, the Diploma in Business Travel also includes modules on general business skills, including customer service, account management, sales negotiation and team leadership. Integral to the course are two weeks of vocational work experience within leading travel management companies, airlines, hoteliers, car and rail operators, to create fully rounded business travel professional of the future.
