Potential Candidate for Labour Leadership, Jess Phillips MP, to speak

Jess Phillips is the Labour Party MP for Birmingham Yardley and tipped to be a strong contender in the leadership race to replace Jeremy Corbyn.

She previously worked for Women’s Aid, where she supported victims of domestic violence and human trafficking. She became a councillor in 2012 through the Labour Future Candidates Programme and worked tirelessly to support residents, with her work being recognised when she became Birmingham's first ever Victims Champion.

Since becoming an MP, Jess has been appointed to the Women and Equalities Committee, the Backbench Business Committee and Chair of the Women’s PLP. She also helped to launch the #NotTheCost campaign to combat the violence faced by politically active women, and the Recl@im the Internet campaign, which challenges abuse online.

With a reputation for plain speaking and calling out sexist attitudes, Jess is a great addition to the conference speaker line-up.

Register for the Conference by 31 December 2019 to secure the discounted Early Bird registration fee.
