Michaela Gordon "one of my greatest achievements"

The ITT Apprentice of the Year 2016, Sponsored by Affirma

The 20th of July, was the day I was going to receive one of my greatest achievements.

I had been nominated by my directors, and gladly I won! When I found out I had won the award I was over the moon in excitement and my parents were so proud!

On the evening of the Awards I was very nervous yet excited at the same time. I did not really know what to expect whether I had to make a speech or if I just collected the award and took a picture. So I prepared myself for both. When I arrived at the House of Parliament, it started to sink in properly. That I had won a massive award and at such a young age as well. I walked on to the terrace, where the award evening was being held. My first thought was to find my director and his wife who kindly came to celebrate the night with me. Once I had found them, the awards had already started to be given out. I had a few individuals in front of me so I had time to calm my nerves and prepare myself.  Once my name was called, my heart started racing, there was so many people there. Once I had collected my award and took a picture with Lawrence, I walked back to my parents. Nearly in tears.

The award was amazing and now sits proudly on my desk and this by far is my greatest achievement. However, this wasn’t the end of my night, Lawrence found me once all the awards had been given out and handed me an envelope. I opened the envelope, read the contents and began to cry. I had won a night stay in a 5* London hotel with all meals included as well as a blow dry in one of London’s newest salons. I could not believe it! My prize was out of this world and now I cannot wait to go for my night away!

Being so young and achieving so much was always a personal goal for me. I have now reached my goal and I couldn’t be happier.
