Manchester Metropolitan awarded ITT Centre of Excellence status

We are delighted to announce that Manchester Metropolitan University has become the latest ITT Centre of Excellence.  

This award is made to select universities across the UK that have demonstrated a real commitment to working with industry to help develop travel and tourism education. Claire Steiner, ITT Chair of Education and Training said “We are thrilled that Manchester Metropolitan University has become the latest ITT Centre of Excellence. Their commitment to working with industry and finding opportunities for their graduates is impressive, as are their great developments in the area of Responsible Tourism education. The Education and Training Committee are looking forward to working with them and our other Centres of Excellence in continuing to provide opportunities to bring industry and education together, and to help nurture the future talent of our sector.” 

Speaking on behalf of Manchester Metropolitan University, Dr Amanda Miller, Principal Lecturer and Programme Leader Tourism Management said "We are absolutely delighted to be a recognised Centre of Excellence as we continue to strive to ensure our students leave MMU as fully informed and prepared for a career in travel and tourism. This is an excellent opportunity for MMU to continue to improve and consolidate our working with industry and we are looking forward to working with ITT and the other Centres of Excellence".
