Funding has been secured to subsidise costs of a management development course aimed at the travel industry’s high flyers.

More than 500 business across other sectors have taken part in the course over the last ten years. In the travel sector, Worldchoice have run three courses with 36 businesses taking part and have been extremely impressed with the level of success. The Growth Programme was developed by Dr Shai Vyakarnam, Director of the Centre for Entrepreneurial Learning at Cambridge University and Director of Transitions.

The course is being run by ITT, ABTA and Transitions and will be held at ABTA’s head office in London. The usual cost of the course per person is over £2,000, but by pooling resources, this has been lowered to £1,200 per person, and the Learning & Skills Council in London will fund £800 of this. Therefore the employer only needs to fund the remaining £400!
