On one of the hottest days of the UK heatwave, 160 ITT members gathered in the Pavilion and Terrace bar of the House of Commons. Being at the heart of government and overlooking the South Bank and the London Eye certainly added to the occasion, but this was first and foremost an informal event - a chance for ITT members to relax ahead of the holiday season. The Rt Hon Michael Howard MP made a short presentation, reliving his experience of the ITT Conference in Oman and the green challenge he threw down to the travel industry. Sue Hurdle from The Travel Foundation was on hand to reply to this challenge, by explaining the work of the Foundation and giving an account of what has already been achieved. Whether it was down to the heat, the company or the conversation, the bar remained open for brisk business long after the anticipated 8:30 finish, leading to the conclusion that the evening was a great success!
