Events

Every year, ITT organises a variety of popular events which enable Members to learn more about their industry at the same time as networking in both formal and informal settings.

Annual events include: the Members-only overseas Conference, President’s Dinner, Golf Tournament, Chairman’s Summer Cocktails and Christmas Cocktails.

Throughout the year ITT runs Odyssey Suppers at the House of Commons and a session at World Travel Market. ITT endeavours to find different ways to satisfy the increasing need for events.

ITT networking events are extremely popular and tend to sell out very quickly. New events are being added all the time so keep checking this section of the website for updates.

ITT Odyssey Supper

Odyssey Suppers are small, informal events that take place in the House of Commons and are hosted by Lord Snape of Wednesbury.

Julia Lo Bue Said, Managing Director of the Advantage Travel Partnership will be the guest speaker at the Supper taking place on 25 May. The supper will commence with a welcome reception, giving ITT Members and their guests the chance to network.

Tickets are now limited; please contact rebekah@itt.co.uk for bookings.

Julia became Managing Director of the Advantage Travel Centres group in July 2013, with responsibility for running the business on a day-to-day basis as well as developing the strategy and vision for the company.

With a sales turnover of approximately £3.5 billion and a diverse business model which incorporates membership of travel agents and travel management companies, an insurance company, an insurance broker as well as a shareholding in an international business, the role has enabled Julia to develop her skills even further as a leader in the industry.

Following a review of the business, Julia launched Vision 2020 – a strategic plan which outlines the business’ key goals for the next five years; redefining the business culture to one of momentum, enthusiasm, high performance and energy; repositioning the business to The Advantage Travel Partnership providing greater clarity of its business-to-business ethos and membership value; restructuring of marketing and business development as core services to the entire group as well as the introduction of a new governance framework for the company.

Previously, as Leisure Director for Advantage, Julia oversaw the leisure travel function for the company where she was responsible for delivering best-in-class commercial arrangements across a wide portfolio of product.

With technology playing an ever-increasing part for the group, The Advantage Travel Gateway, a multi-channel distribution technology platform providing its members with access to aggregated leisure product, was launched in 2010. Originally driven by Julia, the Gateway underpins the core leisure strategy across the business.

Having worked her way up to her current position, Julia has been at Advantage for 20 years. She has been an ITT board director since 2011, and in 2012 was inducted into the Women's 1st Top 100 Club for Travel and Hospitality.

After studying travel and tourism at college Julia started her travel career working overseas before joining WH Smith Travel, until they were acquired by AT Mays, and latterly absorbed by Thomas Cook. Julia then held roles with Balkan Holidays and The Best Travel Group before joining Advantage.
