GUEST SPEAKER:
Chris Mottershead, Founder & Chief Executive, Travelzest
Chris Mottershead was characteristically optmistic about the industry and predicted a healthy future for travel and tourism. In focusing on profits, he revealed that in the year to 31 October 2006, TravelZest had a turnover of £19.2m! He’s convinced that the days of the companies with large turnover and small profit margins are over – he’s currently enjoying 32% margins and is working to drive up volumes. In the future, he thinks a successful company profile will be a small niche business which makes a decent profit.
TravelZest is a prime example of a profitable company in a series of niche markets. Wth net-savvy consumers now using specific search terms when looking for holidays, the changes in the travel market is enabling them to compete with the corporate giants. |
