There can be no doubt that one of the main reasons for the recent success of the Institute has been the strength of the Board of Directors. There are sixteen directors, all of whom are elected annually by the membership. A proportion of the Board must stand down each year - and this year is no exception. Existing members may seek re-election, but there is nothing to prevent interested members from "throwing their hats into the ring".

This year there are nine vacancies in the following categories:

• Training & Education
• Tour Operator
• Tourist Board
• Airline
• Domestic Tourism
• Ground Transportation
